The first part of our summer was kind of
slow and nice. The second half
was hectic, but fun! Me and the kids
were gone from mid-July to the day before school started on different little
trips, with only coming home for at most 3 days in between each one, sometimes
just 1/2 a day. Laundry is about
all I did when I was home, just to transition to the next adventure.
One of the
things that the kids and I did was drive to St. George, stayed there a day and
went and explored Pine Valley, then we went on to Las Vegas and flew up to the
tri-cities area of Washington (Richland) to visit my mom. We had a good vacation up there,
exploring her town and letting her and Gary take us places and spoil the kids.
One of their favorite things to do each day was to
take the doggies for a walk to the park and take them down the slide with them.
It was pure torture for the dogs I think!
We spent some time at Art-In-The-Park one day doing
hula-hooping, face-painting, eating popcorn and ice-cream cones, and playing in
the Columbia River.
Another day, Gary and my mom treated us to a day on
the Columbia River to go boating. Nothing
beat the 100 degree weather better than a ride out on the float tube.
I kept wanting to call the river a lake. It is odd to be boating on such a huge river,
especially when you can't see it flowing one direction or the other.
Just look at that face!

Other highlights were visiting the amazing
trampoline park there, introducing my mom and Gary to the self-serve fro-yo
shop, scooter riding and mini-golfing at the house, and picking more than 100
tomatoes from their plants. Thanks for
the great time!
