We seem to be a 'project' people. I love projects and always have one too many going on around the house. Tyson could do without the projects but he's married to me and won't pay anyone else to do them, so we take it all on ourselves I guess.
So we started into the backyard with the first ambitious project of the spring...the playset! This has been long-awaited for by the kids (and actually me too)!
This is the spot for it and what it looked like last spring
...a whole lot of rocks, some shrubs and a strawberry patch.
Starting to prepare the spot. Strawberry patch gone, and moving sprinklers. It took us nearly 3 weeks just to prepare the area for this playset and it was some serious hard labor by both of us. I shoveled a million wheelbarrows of dirt and rocks I think!
The playset came in 4 huge boxes, weighing 1200 lbs! This is what it was like when we layed it all out and were getting ready to start! Overwhelming!
And it is finished!
The instructions said the assembly time was 20-24 hrs by two moderately skilled people. Not hardly! Tyler came down and they worked on it from sun-up to sun-down for 3 solid days, then it took Tyson and me another 2 weeks to finish up all the loose ends.
And after it was finished we had to rip out curbing and grass, move more sprinklers and get all that fixed up again. I can't believe how much work it was, but it really was worth it!
They love it! Now for the rest of the yard...
