Zoo Animals!

We made a trip to the Denver Zoo and these were the silly animals that we found...

We had a great time at the zoo with the Nielsen's and I think the kids loved having new friends.  They were really cute playing together.  Thank you Nielsens for joining us!!!

I Just Can't Wait to Be King

Mackenzie has been taking dance class this past year and they just had their year-end performance which was quite a big deal. Really expensive costumes, full make-up and hair-do, block rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and two performances at the Moss Performing Arts Center at Mesa State. She's in GJ Academy of Dance where they have about 175 dancers. Good thing her class only has four little 'ladybugs'.

She has been a joy to watch dance. It is very foreign to me, not even close to riding horses, so I have learned what an arabesque is right along with her. She loves to go be with her friends at dance and to tell her wonderful teacher Miss Krystal about everything that is on her mind and going on at our house. It's been a great social experience more than anything (which is why I put her in it). But as this year comes to a close and I watched her perform for hundreds of people, I couldn't be more proud of what a cute dancer she is on stage. She wasn't afraid and she knew she was up there to perform and she really tried her hardest to do all the steps.

Her class did their dance to Lion King-I Just Can't Wait to Be King! It was sooo cute!

I'm gonna be a mighty king, so enemies beware!

I'm going to be the 'mane' event, like no king was before.

No one saying do this...

No one saying be there...

No one saying stop that...

No one saying seeing here.

Free to run around all day, free to do it all my way!

Oh, I just can't wait to be King!

We are so proud of you Mackenzie!

A Walk in the Woods

We have been knee deep in home improvement stuff for the last two months.  I really like to do it, mostly because I like the end result, and I like to be able to make new spaces, create new things.  Tyson could do without all the projects, but he's too unwilling to pay someone big bucks for something that he really has the skills to do (but would rather not use those skills).  So we have made a lot of changes to the house, but still have a lot more coming up.  Pictures soon to come when I actually finish some room or wrap up some project.

We have a huge wall in the house that needs a huge something on.  After a little consult with an interior decorater, I know exactly what I want, but obtaining it is the trick since it involves my kids.  So we set out on a little walk up through the aspens to try to obtain the perfect picture.  I don't think any of them qualify for what I'm looking for, but there were some very cute pictures still.  Here's a few favorites of mine:
