In May, Tyson was part of a relay team for the Half-Ironman here locally. He didn't exactly "want" to do it, but an amazing cyclist wanted a fast runner to be on his team so they could win. While we were in Cancun in January, this guy, who we had never known, just got online and signed Tyson up to be on his team because he had heard through friends that Tyson was pretty fast. Quite flattering, right? He put forth very little effort training, and ran the half-marathon in 1 hr. 40 min. (he says it was a half mile longer than it was supposed to be or else he would have been faster). Doesn't really matter. Their team won 1st place for the relay, and placed 7th overall. The six places before them were individuals who did all three legs of the race (swimming, biking, and running) on their own, which is incredible! Still, an awesome time and accomplishment for Tyson's relay team. Way to go Tyson and team!
Coming into the finish line with a smile!
Fueling back up after the race
