Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits!

This past spring was an exciting time around our house for Mackenzie and Tyson, since they are the rabbit-lovers.  Mackenzie and her friend were playing and let both of the rabbits out in the house (which I DO NOT ever allow) and they mated!  Yep...and they were brother and sister!  Yep!  The girls came running to me trying to explain and show me what the rabbits were doing.  That part was hilarious!  But the idea that they mated, I was not thrilled about.

So 3 weeks later, we had baby bunnies and those two little girls (and Tyson I must add) were thrilled!!!  Nine babies were born, but two died within the day.  So seven lived to be cute fluffy furballs!  Mackenzie and all the neighbor kids had a lot of fun playing with them in the late spring.

Yes, she continued to sneak them in the house!  This one was her favorite, and didn't even have its eyes open yet.  Just a week old!

Caught these two little girlies AGAIN with their baby bunny in the house!!!

This giant guy is named Snowball and it is the daddy to these babies.  It was a baby just last year.  Just a few weeks after it was born, it fell out of the cage and broke its leg.  But it heeled well and Mackenzie babied it constantly, also because its mommy died just when it was 3 weeks old.  So this rabbit now is super friendly, follows you everywhere in the yard, and tries to sneak in the house.  It really likes me for some reason, and I nearly step on it every time its out because it hops right next to me as I'm walking.
