Happy to have made it at a nice 82'F and left behind the bitter cold (-11F) in Colorado!
Kid at heart for sure - he did a lot of riding the waves, which were quite large!
And I did a lot of sitting around reading. :)
I read "The Help" - so hilarious and good - great vacation book!
Working on his tan
Our hotel we stayed at is the big one right in the middle, Live Aqua. It was super nice, really yummy food - we quite enjoyed it! And ate way too much!!!
Out to eat at our fancy dinner!
We went out parasailing which was super fun, minus the snappy workers out on the boat getting us geared up, ordering us around ...oh, and the guy taking us back on the wave runner demanding that we go get him some free beer from our hotel for his tip. Seriously! That put a sour taste in our mouth, but the actual parasailing was fun for sure!
And does it really look like he needs one more beer? Sheesh!
Waiting for lunch out at the beach.
We did meander out a bit from our hotel to do some shopping for sunscreen, since we almost bought 2 tubes of sunscreen at the hotel for $80. We weren't doing the conversion right from pesos to USD, and boy I took that sunscreen right back when I figured out what it was costing us. So anyways, we had 2 shopping malls right next to our hotel, so we ventured out on a rainy day and another evening and found us some $10 sunscreen, along with some fun trinkets for the kids...and this lovely hat that Tyson tried on. And they say things are cheaper in Mexico, maybe so, but certainly not where we were!
This was our view straight out hotel room. We slept each night with the sliding glass doors open and the noise of the ocean putting us to sleep. It was absolutely heavenly. We woke each morning to a beautiful sunrise, went running at the beach in the morning and seashell hunting for the kids. There couldn't have been anything more perfect about the vacation except adding a few extra days in and having our kids there to enjoy it with us!
And I have to say that I feel so blessed to have the most amazing babysitter watching our kids. Miss Kasey got to play mommy for a week and it was fun for all, until Mackenzie got the flu and started throwing up. That's when you know you'd better come home and back to reality!
