Looking Back...

I can't believe it has been a year already since graduation and moving from Florida. Where does the time go? I've been reflecting on this past year lately, and since we didn't have a blog a year ago, I thought I'd share a little bit of the past.

It has been a great, and sometimes hard adventure during this last year. It's so hard to imagine where you might be in the future. I would have never imagined where we are today, but it is great and we have no regrets. It is so interesting where life takes you.

Eleven long years of school is finally paying off for Tyson and I couldn't be more proud to have such a hard-working and committed husband. When we first got married, he was going to be a pediatrician. That quickly changed to be a civil engineer. After 4 years of that, he had a brilliant idea to become a dentist. I was devastated, but he was determined. The one condition was that he get his degree in Civil Engineering just in case he changed his mind again (I was learning his ways). I'm now glad he doesn't actually need that degree.

Fast forward 5 more years, and it was just a year ago that we were celebrating the end of life as we knew it...meaning school! It was so bittersweet. We had looked forward to that moment for years and were so anxious for our new life ahead of us. At the same time, we were sad to be leaving the people that we had grown so close to in Florida and leaving the place where our kids were born.

Moving to Cedar City wasn't exactly what I had in mind. :) The first 2 months in Utah were so hard for me. I missed Florida, missed friends, missed the great ward, and Mackenzie was about 20 months and at a stage that I am not so fond of. I kind of just got used to things after a while, but at the same time we felt the need to move on in Tyson's career. We found a great opportunity here in Grand Junction and took it. We are so happy we did.

I loved the year in review! We always talk about how we can't wait to be out of school but the truth is it's pretty scary! Glad to hear it's starting to pay off!
